This San Francisco Cable Car map shows all cable car lines and where they connect with the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system.

Among the popular San Francisco neighborhoods that tourists visit are: Fisherman's Wharf, Nob Hill and Chinatown.

The Cable Cars operate every day of the year except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Hours of Operation

  • Cable cars run from about 6 AM  in the morning to 1 AM at night

Tickets - Buy from conductor or at turnarounds

  • Adult & Youth (ages 5-17): $3 each way
  • Senior (ages 65+) & Disabled: $3 each way ($1 9pm-7am)

Passes - Allow rides on streetcars, buses, and cable cars

  • One Day: $9
  • Three Days: $15
  • Seven Days: $20

The Ferry Building is located along the Embarcadero at the foot of Market Street.
It is a transit hub serviced by cable cars, BART, public buses, ferry boats and the historic F Line trolley.

Cruises to Alcatraz Prison leave from Pier 33 on the waterfront. The cruise including visiting the prison takes 2.5 hours.
