Christ Church Burial Ground Address
There are thousands of cemeteries in the United States, but there is one in Philadelphia that holds added significance. It has 1,400 markers on two beautiful acres in the heart of historic Philadelphia. Benjamin Franklin, his wife Deborah and four other signers of the Declaration of Independence are all buried in the Christ Church Burial Ground. Christ Church founded in 1695, is a few blocks from its burial ground. George Washington and other participants in the Revolutionary War worshiped at this church. The location of the cemetery is at the corner of 5th and Arch Streets. It's right across the street from the National Constitution Center and Visitors Center. Even though the burial ground first started back in 1719, the cemetery is still active. Each year, many tourists visit the Christ Church Burial Ground and some leave pennies on Benjamin Franklin's grave. Open: March to December, Monday to Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and
