The Staten Island Ferry provides 20 million people a year with ferry service between St. George on Staten Island and Whitehall Street in lower Manhattan.

Many tourists take the ferry trip simply to enjoy the ride and the views. When arriving in Staten Island you must leave the ferry and stay in the terminal waiting area until the next ferry leaves.

Schedule: The Ferry runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Frequent service - every 15 or 20 minutes - is provided on weekdays during the rush hours of 6 AM to 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM to 8 PM. During non-rush hours and weekends, service is normally every 30 minutes. However, in late evening and early morning service can be every 60 minutes.
