Octagon House
Closed to Public Tours The Octagon House has temporarily stopped public tours, during a study to redefine and improve the visitor experience. Private group tours of 10 - 25 people can be arranged by appointment. During the War of 1812, the Octagon house in Washington DC served as a temporary residence for President James Madison, after the White House was burned by British soldiers. The Octagon is now a museum devoted to architecture and design. Open: Tuesday - Sunday, except Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's Day
