Decatur House Washington DC

The Decatur House in Washington DC, built in 1818, overlooks Lafayette Square and is one block north of the White House.

The house was built by Stephen Decatur, who was a celebrity from his military victories in the Barbary Wars
and the War of 1812.

You can tour the eight furnished period rooms of this impressive mansion and its gardens.
