Folger Shakespeare Library

The Folger Shakespeare Library is a world-class research center with exhibits about Shakespeare.

The library is home to the world’s largest and finest collection of Shakespeare materials and to major collections of other rare Renaissance books, manuscripts and works of art.

Exhibitions are presented in the majestic 190-foot-long Great Hall, decorated with oak-paneled walls and ceilings bearing Shakespeare's coat of arms. The Elizabethan Theatre, a replica of a playhouse of Shakespeare's time, presents Shakespeare's plays and modern works.
